Our 15-year old son and 12-year old daughter have been taking lessons for almost 6 years from HueiChen Tsai. The Simply Music program has provided them with a variety of genre of music from the beginning and to confidently play music from the very first day.
We were impressed back then and continue to be in awe of the program as we witness our youngest daughter (8) go through the program. She still gets excited after learning something new. She has been taking lessons for almost 4 years and has found it easy to learn because of her exposure to the program from her older siblings.
HueiChen always provides a positive teaching environment and encourages them to learn from their peers during their group lessons. She also supports their desire to learn songs of their choice or create their own musical pieces. Our three children have their ups and downs throughout their musical journey, but when we find them happily playing music together in their free time, we know that it’s totally worth it.
The pure joy of sharing music is priceless!!! Mahalo HueiChen for being so supportive of our family and inspiring them to have music as a lifelong companion. You are a true blessing!

SaraAnne has been taking Simply Music piano lessons with Hueichen for 5 years. It’s been a great experience for her to be able to learn how to play the piano using such an easy, quick and fun method. She enjoys the Simply Music songs as well as learning songs that she wants to play. The tools and resources Simply Music provides are also very helpful.

My children are among her first students using the Simply Music method. Through these lessons they have learned to enjoy playing and creating different types of music including blues, contemporary, classical, and pop. They are encouraged to be creatively expressive and write their own compositions. They are able to choose their own pieces and that is very motivating for them. They enjoy the music and sometimes will hear a song on the radio and try to figure it out on the piano.
Hueichen is a wonderful teacher and takes her teaching very seriously. She is always trying to improve her lessons and is constantly attending workshops to learn new techniques and refine her teaching skills. She is patient and kind, and takes a keen interest in each of her students. She explains the instruction well and is always positive, encouraging, and cheerful. Her love of music is infectious. She often shares inspiring stories and video performances. She also brings in very appealing music for the students to learn apart from the Simply Music curriculum which keeps the lessons fresh and exciting and successfully keeps her students engaged.
